Dr. Pablo  Herrero is a Spanish physiotherapist. In 2001, he received a Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy and in 2012, a PhD in Physiotherapy both from the University of Zaragoza, Spain. He is currently a Professor at the University of Zaragoza in the Physiotherapy Department and Head of the iHealthy Research Group. In 2007, Dr. Herrero was the author of the first publication describing the application of dry needling in a neurological patient. He has directed several research projects in this area. The “Stroke-POC project” is one of the most relevant initiatives, which received €755,000 in funding to conduct a comparative study with botulinum toxin in three countries (Spain, Canada, and Belgium). He has published many publications in this area and is the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Invasive Techniques in Physical Therapy. He has taught dry needling courses for the treatment of neurological patients in many different countries throughout Europe, the US, and the Middle East. He has received many research and innovation awards. In the field of myofascial pain, he was recognized for developing the 3TOOL device to treat and self-treat trigger points.
