Biography

Matthew Riordan, PT, DPT, OCS, CMTPT/DN, is the founder of Better With Physical Therapy in Madison, NJ, providing one-on-one, customized care focused on orthopedics, sports medicine, pain management, and movement analysis. He began his career as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 1997, earned his Master’s in Physical Therapy from Mercy College in 2002, and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2010.

Matthew initially completed his dry needling training in 2015, but due to state regulations, had to withhold this treatment.  In 2021, dry needling was added to the New Jersey practice act, which allowed Matthew to learn DN techniques with Myopain again. He was eager to resume this evidence-based treatment when it was approved again in New Jersey in 2022. A lifelong learner, he has served as Northern District Vice Chair of the New Jersey APTA, taught orthopedics at Rutgers University, and mentored numerous PT students.

Matthew values Myopain Seminars for its integration of precise needling techniques, advanced pain science education, and commitment to excellence in anatomy and palpation skills. He believes in practicing what he teaches and prioritizes his own health and wellness in daily life.
