At least fifteen (15) of the required thirty (30) contact hours shall be from Certified Activities. Certified Activities include [...] attendance at conferences and completion of continuing competency activities provided by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), South Carolina Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (SCAPTA), other chapters and sections of the APTA, as well as other state boards of physical therapy.
- Describe and demonstrate three updates to the dry needling techniques for interscapular and cervical musculature.
- Describe and demonstrate the use of a dry needling techniques to address fascial adhesions and scar.
- Describe and demonstrate the use of dry needling techniques to address pathology of tendons and entheses.
- Discuss updates in the clinical literature that support the use of dry needling techniques in as least three musculoskeletal and neurological pathologies.
- Identify at least three updates to precautions and contraindications for use of dry needling techniques in patients.
- Demonstrate competence in dry needling three muscles they may have been avoiding in clinical practice.
- Apply clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice, and practitioner wisdom to two case studies brought forth by colleagues and instructors.
